The three protagonists of this meeting shared the idea of creating wines that are profound expressions of the goodness of nature. Their shared philosophy of minimal intervention in the winemaking process, letting nature shape the final product, resonated deeply. They imagined a series of wines that would capture the substance of their encounter, wines ‘Pure as Nature Intends’. This passion gave rise to the selection of wines APANI® by Marilisa Allegrini that reflects the most famous love story in the world born in those very lands, that of Romeo and Juliet, obviously without the tragic ending.

PURSUING EXCELLENCE IN RED WINE

APANI® by Marilisa Allegrini is a bold ambition that requires unwavering dedication and constant commitment. This vision is not just about wine production, it is a passion rooted in every step: from the cultivation of the vines to the careful care of the grapes to the art of creating the finest Italian red wines to offer a sensory journey that encapsulates the synthesis of Italy’s winemaking heritage. This ambition finds its apex in three of the most illustrious Italian wine regions: Bolgheri, renowned for its prestigious wines; Montalcino, celebrated for its elegant Brunello DOCG, suitable for ageing that, according to regulations, must be at least five years from the harvest and Rosso DOC and Valpolicella with the prince of wines of the area known for its rich and intense character.

VILLA DELLA TORRE: A NEW APANI® RESIDENCE

Villa della Torre has become the seal of this fusion with the transformation of the noble residence into an APANI® Residence. The historic residence full of grace and tradition has undergone a metamorphosis, emerging as the embodiment of this interweaving of tradition and ambition: a dedication to creating wines that tell stories, evoke emotions and capture the very essence of Italian wine-making excellence. It is a bold journey that pays homage to the past, embraces the present and paves the way for a future full of sublime Italian red wines.

POGGIO AL
TESORO

Poggio al Tesoro is located in the incredible territory of Bolgheri, the elected place of the ancient Etruscan civilisation, one of the most interesting and suggestive areas of Tuscany, Italy. What makes it famous are the medieval centre of Castagneto Carducci, where the monumental Castello della Gherardesca stands out, and, to the west, the beaches of Marina di Castagneto. In 2001, Marilisa Allegrini, who fell in love with the Bolgheri territory, embarked on a policy of expansion and here established Poggio Al Tesoro. Today it is an APANI® residence and one of the largest in the Bolgheri area, with land located partly at the foot of the hills and partly close to the Tyrrhenian coast. Poggio Al Tesoro extends over 100 hectares, 64 of which are planted with vines, divided into four different estates that contain, as in a casket, unique qualities that combine in an exceptional terroir. Poggio al Tesoro is not only a place of rare beauty, but an ethical and responsible space in pure APANI® – As Pure As Nature Intended – style. We live in an age of great change, in which man’s omnipotence is challenged by his own limitations. In this changing world, which is being called upon to slow down, the wines of APANI® by Marilisa Allegrini, born at Poggio al Tesoro in synergy with the land, are the highest expression of respect and attention to sustainability in the vineyard and in the cellar. They are wines capable of putting man back in his rightful place in his relationship with the world, with the land, with beauty itself.

SAN
POLO

Imagine a magical place where the beauty of unspoilt nature reigns supreme. A place where you can find yourself far from the stress of the city, where every corner becomes an experience to be lived and where every experience becomes an unforgettable memory. This place is San Polo, a special place in the land of Montalcino, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside in Italy. Here, amidst wineries, vineyards and splendid views, it is possible to savour the thousand facets of a truly unique terroir while enjoying the warm family hospitality typical of APANI® and establishing a symbiotic relationship with the surrounding nature. It is precisely from the interaction with the land that our wines are born, capable of putting man back in his rightful place in his relationship with nature, with the land, and with beauty itself. Montalcino is a microcosm of stone houses adorned with the colourful banners of the quarters, steep steps, narrow medieval alleys that suddenly open onto breathtaking views. From the sturdy 14th-century fortress that dominates the town, the view embraces an area that hardly needs an introduction, for the beauty of its landscape, the fame of its wines and its thousand-year history. It is a succession of crags, dirt roads, wheat and sunflower fields, abbeys, villages and vineyards. Here Sangiovese reaches its maximum expression and gives life to Brunello. San Polo covers a total of 22 hectares, 16 of which are planted with vines, 8 of which are used to produce Brunello. In the cellar, an admirable example of bio-architecture, conceived to minimise energy expenditure and environmental impact, the grapes are processed with artisanal care to enhance the finesse of the Sangiovese aromas.
